- Sketchbook: Manroot (Marah oreganus) This is a wild cucumber that grows in the Columbia Gorge. Although it is inedible, the lush leaves and interesting fruit are a welcome sight sprawling over the ground under trees.
- Sketchbook: Forkedtooth Ookow (Dichelostemma congestum) & Grasses This delightfully named wildflower blooms amidst the dried grasses of the Catherine Creek area of the Columbia Gorge.
- Sketchbook: Harsh Paintbrush & Farewell-to-Spring Studies of wildflowers from the Catherine Creek area of the Columbia Gorge.
- Sketchbook: Harvest Coronaria (Brodiaea coronaria) A delicate wildflower that grows in the harsh conditions of the upper Columbia Gorge.
- Sketchbook: Arrowleaf Balsamroot (Balsamorhiza sagitatta) I was entranced by the bold yet graceful leaves and daisy-like flower of this wildflower in the Catherine Creek area of the Columbia Gorge. It was quite a contrast to the delicate grasses and native flowering bulbs growing nearby.
- Sketchbook: Saskatoon or Amelanchier alnifolia I've heard that these berries make nice jam but I've never tried any. The bright berries nestled amongst the pretty leaves certainly look good enough to eat!
- Sketchbook: Seeds & Galls Graphite studies of various pods, seeds and galls
