I spent the afternoon sketching in a friends garden awhile back. In an area away from the main garden she lets the Verbascum reseed themselves, and I thought they were so pretty with the enormous Douglas Firs as a backdrop.

Veggie Sketch
Here is a lovely cabbage I found to sketch in a nearby community garden last week. The real cabbage had deeper blues, purples and pinks but since I am new at water colors, I didn’t realize that the paint colors would lighten so much as they dried.
