I did these pencil sketches several years ago for a plant ID class when I was studying landscape design.I did a sketch for each plant we studied, even if it was only a leaf or a flower. Here is just a sampling of the sketches. Most of them were simpler than these because we covered many plants each term, and I didn’t have much time to draw.
This blog is about my journey as a botanical artist--what I am learning, what inspires me and what I am currently drawing or painting. My desire is to continually hone my skills to better express my wonder and gratitude for the beauty of the creation around me in the Pacific Northwest (USA).
