I said, “I think I’ll sketch a series of teapots next.” My husband replied, “Teapots in the wild or domesticated ones?” “Hmmm, teapots in the wild sounds way more fun”. So here is my series of teapots sketched in the wild. I did the first one in a coffee shop in Hood River. The next two were sketched at the Chinese Garden Tea House in Portland, and the last one is domesticated–it’s my own little teapot sketched in the comfort and safety of my kitchen. I had fun combining pencil and watercolors on that one. I guess tame teapots do have their charms after all!

This blog is about my journey as a botanical artist--what I am learning, what inspires me and what I am currently drawing or painting. My desire is to continually hone my skills to better express my wonder and gratitude for the beauty of the creation around me in the Pacific Northwest (USA).
I would love to hear from you...
