Japanese Garden Sketchcrawl

The Portland Sketchcrawl group met today at the Japanese Garden for a pleasant but chilly afternoon of sketching. Although rain was forecast, only two drops of rain fell on my sketchpad while we were there. We sketched as long as we could take the cold, then headed to a coffee shop for warm refreshments and a ‘show and tell’ of our sketches. One of my favorite things about sketching with a group is seeing everyone’s different styles and choice of subject matter. As we sat in the warmth, chatted and drank tea, the rain started pelting down–great timing!

  1. Great success! How lovely that you got to go warm up at a coffee shop too.

  2. Janene, these are beautiful! Thanks for sharing…so glad you didn’t get caught in that down pour! 🙂

  3. Thanks for the encouragement! As I was driving home, it really started pouring–there were even ice pellets hitting the windshield.
