Five of us met to sketch at the Central Library today. I had trouble getting started so didn’t have much to show when we met for coffee in mid-afternoon. After our meeting, inspired by the other sketchers and fortified by caffeine, I went back to the library and decided to try these arches and pendant lights.
I sketched this old man reading Issac Asimov earlier in the day. He kept his head fairly still but moved his hands around a lot so I finally gave up on trying to include them in the drawing. The library is a great place to sketch interesting characters.

This blog is about my journey as a botanical artist--what I am learning, what inspires me and what I am currently drawing or painting. My desire is to continually hone my skills to better express my wonder and gratitude for the beauty of the creation around me in the Pacific Northwest (USA).
I would love to hear from you...
