I did this little painting a few years ago and just ran across it again. I thought I would post it as a harbinger of spring–crocus and snowdrops just popped up here in the PNW, and tulips are just around the corner! Yay!
As I remember, I painted this from a nursery catalog. I am pretty sure it is a local one–we have an amazing array of nurseries here in the PNW because of our temperate climate and beautiful sunny summers.

This blog is about my journey as a botanical artist--what I am learning, what inspires me and what I am currently drawing or painting. My desire is to continually hone my skills to better express my wonder and gratitude for the beauty of the creation around me in the Pacific Northwest (USA).
Oh yeah, I remember flowers actually growing out of the ground now! Thanks for the lovely reminder!! nancy
Beautiful! I love the covers on those catalogs and the photos inside. Stunning colors and textures. This is beautiful.
Beautiful blog!
Thank you for this beautiful reminder!
I love your tulips! Lovely!
When I lived on Whidbey Island in the 80’s I had never seen such beautiful TULIP fields before or since……You got this one right on!! Thanks for the memory 😀
