I spent the afternoon sketching in a friends garden awhile back. In an area away from the main garden she lets the Verbascum reseed themselves, and I thought they were so pretty with the enormous Douglas Firs as a backdrop.
This blog is about my journey as a botanical artist--what I am learning, what inspires me and what I am currently drawing or painting. My desire is to continually hone my skills to better express my wonder and gratitude for the beauty of the creation around me in the Pacific Northwest (USA).

Absolutely stunning! How are you doing this? Your drawings, even though in b/w, look so photographic and still they bear this “romantic” touch of drawings.
Oh, and your mascot is adorable! Love it!
It’s breathtaking! I really like the blurred out background, and then pops one that’s the main focus of the entire piece. It’s marvelous! Raena is right, it’d be so cool to see a colored version too…but that’d probably be too much work. I like this as it is ^^
