I am participating in a challenge to do a sketch every day in May from a list of subjects. The challenge is called Every Day in May, and is from a group called Everyday Matters. Here is the list of subjects. I am starting late so have a lot of catching up to do, but here are my first entries. I plan to use a quill nib dip pen for my EDiM sketches in order to get more practice with it. I did a rough preliminary sketch in pencil, then did the ink line work, then the watercolor.
My daughter decided she wants these shoes for her birthday so I am in trouble now!

This blog is about my journey as a botanical artist--what I am learning, what inspires me and what I am currently drawing or painting. My desire is to continually hone my skills to better express my wonder and gratitude for the beauty of the creation around me in the Pacific Northwest (USA).
