We listened to a rehearsal of Pagliacci and Carmina Burana in Director Park downtown. The music was delightful, and I got some people sketching in too. Although I am much more comfortable sketching backs of heads, I ventured to try some ‘fronts’ this time as well.

This blog is about my journey as a botanical artist--what I am learning, what inspires me and what I am currently drawing or painting. My desire is to continually hone my skills to better express my wonder and gratitude for the beauty of the creation around me in the Pacific Northwest (USA).
great sketches of people! =) I miss doing that actually…. it’s hard to find the time to just sit in a spot for hours and just sketch… I might get that chance again pretty soon though
Way to go!! You did a fine job with these, and getting to hear wonderful music to boot …. what could be better? Well, maybe chocolate pie. lol nancy
Thanks Alex and Nancy! Alex–a concert in the park is the perfect place for people watching and sketching. You ought to try it sometime!
Nancy–You are right, chocolate pie is the only thing that could have made the afternoon any better. 😉
Sounds like a great afternoon and some good sketches too.
Those are nice “backs of heads”. I felt as though I was sitting right behind the group!
That’s my idea of a great day: music and sketching! Add a little picnic, maybe some wine…:D
