Rosa glauca

.

I sketched this sweet little blossom a few months ago, and saved a spot on the page for the hips, which are just forming now. Rosa glauca has to be one of the most beautiful species roses, with its amazing purple/blue/gray/green leaves.  I had trouble reproducing the color of the leaves in my sketch but my new scanner made them even greener than I painted them.  Oh well, they do have a blush of pink on them anyway!
