My New Website

My New Website

My new website/blog is up!!! It has been quite a process, so that is why I haven’t posted for awhile.  Part of the project was incorporating my old blog into the website.  As you may have noticed, I have migrated from Blogger to WordPress.  But my blog will remain the same, just with a whole new look.  I am very excited about it all!!

Another new development is my new artist Facebook page.  Please visit if you are on Facebook!

One of my goals is to streamline my online presence as much as possible so I can keep in touch with all of you, yet still have plenty of time for painting.  I have found the online community of like-minded artists and appreciators of art to be a tremendous source of enjoyment, inspiration and encouragement.  Those of you who visit and comment on my blog regularly mean a lot to me so a top priority will be posting on my blog, mostly about what I am doing and learning about in botanical art.  I plan to put a link on my artist Facebook page whenever I post on my blog, so that will be one way of keeping in touch. Another way is signing up for email updates regarding new posts or bringing my blog into whatever blog reader that you use.  I plan to post about 3 or 4 times a month.

These are some peppers that will be part of a larger composition--so fun to paint those vivid colors.

One problem that has come up is that a lot of people were following on Google Friends Connect (that little square icon with all the little faces of followers on it).  Apparently, Google has discontinued GFC on all blogs except Blogger, so if that is how you were following, my blog may no longer appear in your reader now that my blog migrated to WordPress.  I hope you will find another way to follow that is convenient for you.

So thanks for visiting, and I hope you come by again.  And last but not least, thank you to my talented web designer, Amy Drews of Simply Fine Design for making all of this happen!

  3. Janene, this new website look is stunning! Your work was beautiful before, but it looks even better now (if that’s possible).
I’m a subscriber now and I look forward to seeing your work.

  4. Looks lovely especially the illustration up the left.

I couldn’t workout how wordpress worked, so have my site blog and blogger (twice the work but…). I see you used a designer so I guess that’s the secret.

    • Thanks Sue, I am glad that you like it. Yes, having someone do it who knows how this stuff works is definitely the secret! She said that there are apps to import blogs into WordPress but that is all I know.
