I was excited to get the good news recently that two of my paintings were accepted into the annual Filoli Botanical Art Exhibition. For those of you unfamiliar with it, Filoli is a historic site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and is located 30 miles south of San Francisco.
It is a country estate, now open to the public, built in the early 20th century, with a large Georgian country house and a beautiful 16–acre English Renaissance garden. They have several art exhibits each year, as well as offering a variety of art classes including a certificate program in botanical art.
You have seen the two paintings that were accepted before, but in case you are curious here they are:
Some of my favorite botanical artists will be showing work there as well, so I feel very honored to be able to participate. Both Catherine Watters and Jean Emmons will have work in the show, as well as fellow SBA graduate Denise Ramsay.
So if you will be in the San Francisco area in the next few months, you might consider a side trip to Filoli to see a great botanical art exhibition and tour the beautiful gardens there as well.
